Flare Velocity Calculations
Flaring is a VOC combustion control process in which the VOC’s are piped to a remote, typically elevated, location.
They are then burned in an open flame in the open air using a specially designed burner tip, auxiliary fuel, and steam or air to promote mixing for nearly complete VOC destruction.
To meet the required NSPS Subpart A air emission standards, exit velocities are monitored to ensure they comply for their classification.
We keep track of the regulations in effect, and make the applicable calculations.
